The Sensual Ball

Held Sunday 12^th June 2005

First of all a very big thank you to those guests who responded to our feedback survey, which was very useful and will set the scene for the next Sensual Ball in June 2006.  

We received over 260 responses!  Overall an excellent night with a few minor niggles to fix up for the next event, which will all be done!

We got the general messages loud and clear so see the results below and look out below our ideas for next year at the end of this.

Demographics - this came from our booking form rather than the feedback forms but both were close in agreement. 40% swingers, 26% curious, 7% nudist, 18% bi-sexual, 9% BDSM / Kinky/ Fetish

Areas - 82% of guests were from NSW,  8% from QLD,  6% from VIC and 4% from other states and overseas.

Venue  - 85% of guests overall said it was OK and use it again but 45% said more chairs must be bought in.  This will be done for next year to allow for more social and intimate gatherings in the various corners of the venue.  The heating will also be turned up (or the air con turned down).  We are also negotiating with owners for a better smokers corner rather than outside in the main street.  NSW regulations prevent smoking from being in the building but They do have an exit that is not exposed to the public walkways that is being considered for use.  This will also prevent the rest rooms from being used as smokers dens.

Music  - All 4 DJ's came out mostly as good but there were issues with to much volume and distortion in the Kinky Room (the distortion seems to be a sound equipment fault).  Too much doof doof music was a recurring comment especiall when it was played in both rooms.  The emphasis next year will be dance music but with more a intimate dance grind to it.  There will be a doof doof element but less of it and later in the night and restricted to one room.

Shows - Ratings were measured from excellent with just one below average, with the highest scoring box quoted here. Bodyrotic and Butchered Babes came out as excellent overall. Christa Hughes and Hardcore Heaven came out as good.  The Mistress Gala's custard act came out as average whilst Ditzy's hounds teetered on below average (noble Ditzy and gang were volunteers to try and get the dancing started early in the Main Room so hats off to them for trying).

Bessie Bardot - 62% want her back again, 30% want another lady MC, 8% want another guy MC.  We'll see what's out there in terms of good MC's but at least we know we'll have a popular MC retuning next year if nothing outstanding crops up.

Restrooms - great improvement of last year as we hired extra cleaners throughout the night.  Only 16% of guests thought they were dirty compared to 85% last year - pretty good for a night out but we'll ensure the smokers and guys hanging out in the ladies get removed next year (guys hanging out in ladies loos will actually get ejected from the venue next year).

Security - excellent with 94% of guests saying they were very discreet & professional

Kinky Room - For both Master Tom and Ultra, 26% precisely for both wanted them back next year with an additional 30% for Ultra and 36% for Master Tom saying the were great but wanted something different next year.  The remainder of guests either did not meet them or did not want to use the Kinky Room in that way for the next ball.  This will result in our biggest change of theme for next year.  We will still have a Kinky / BDSM / Fetish Element but the Kinky Room will be re-worked next year  to better reflect the demographics of the event and to cater for those seeking a more close contact intimate setting in the Kinky Room.

Come Again - less than 3% said they would not come again, 71% saying yes and 26% saying maybe (we assume subject to us fixing up the feedback, which will be done).

Alcohol Prices - a few people thought we get a % cut from the alcohol take.  We get 0% (zero) and we do not have a say in the prices !!!  We will, however, voice concerns of some guests about drink prices and argue a case of 'lower drink prices means more drinks bought' with the venue owners this year as no doubt they would have made a pretty penny given some of the prices we heard they were charging for spirits and water. 

So What Happens at Next Year's Ball?

Taking account of our demographics and the excellent feedback we have received:  The following will occur:

·         500 chairs and more tables will be hired in and placed around the venue to allow more relaxed social contact between couples..

·         Venue - heating will be turned up! 

·         DJ's will be selected on basis of being able to supply more raunchier hip grinding dance music.  We will avoid similar them DJs at the same time so you can migrate to the other room's DJ if the music is not to your liking.

·         The Kinky Room is going to be  re-worked in theme and will be called the Sensual Room.  Ideas are still forming here so watch this space.  Kinky elements will still be retained (e.g. a Kinky Corner for flogging etc, but it will not be the main theme of the room).  The room will be set for more intimate and social contact with some party games set up.
